The freedoms you are concerned about being stolen from you by liberals have already been pissed the last seven years and several months, people have been detained and personal freedoms discarded via the patriot act, and an illegal war that - also through a hasty decision - enables the President an unconstitutional right to make war without approval of congress.

You are correct but I do not think Obama will make it better or McCain. My choice would have been Tom Tancredo for President but he dropped out.

I really do not like either choice but I like Palin although I have doubts about her experience.

Eagle preaching to yourself again? This time you wrote 3 small paragraphs and left the gist of your post for someone else to fill in the spaces. Maybe you can get her to sign up as an member of AE. That way you won't have to lift a finger.

Remember we encourage debates among real members not some campaign spinamster. Save us the torture and just provide a link next time. Big%20smile

Seko did you even brother to read it or are you afraid it could reveal some truth to you, no disrepect intended.

Seko there are others who agree with me such as byz Emp and others I know about so I am not preaching to myself and it was really meant for all you libs.

What our founding fathers intended and what Obama intends are opposites but same could be said about Bush with his globalism.

Eagle, let's try this again. I have no objection to your making comments. I encourage it in fact. But I do want your comments and not some kind of op-ed piece. If I wanted to read about news or political propaganda through proxy then what good is this forum? Let's use our own commentary for the meat of our posts. Try to do better next time. It's the second time I had to remind you of this. Not that you need any reminders but:

11. Plagiarism, the posting of texts found elsewhere without naming either author or source. Posting your own personal commentary is encouraged when copy/pasting from another source. When pasting attempt to place the content in quotes, highlight or underline for presentation purposes. Provide a correct URL link. When referencing from books or periodicals provide the title of the reference, the author and publication date. Posts where the paste is the arguement itself, while not adhering to these requirements, will be deleted.

I'm glad you are trying to reach us libs. But it ain't you doing so it's your mouthpiece talking instead.

About the founding fathers. Could you share your reasoning why you think what Obama intends is so different then our founding fathers? I just want your answers not newsweek's, Fox media or Laurie Roth's opinion. I know you can do it!

Exactly, just an example of political pandering.
The direct use of force is such a poor solution to any problem, it is generally employed only by small children and large nations.

I appreciate your help although I did not take credit and put both her name and the link to her home page.

It would be better to research and write my own comments

He also promotes values that many people oppose and are anti family ,although,it is true Obama seems to be faithfull to his wife and I applaud him for that. I cannot recall hearing about McCain having an affair.

McCain left his first wife and family and he cheated. 'Family values' my arse;  for better or for worse, richer or for poorer, in sickness and in health...mean what to this man?

read the story about his conduct with his first wife.

For a candidate running on character and biography, it is also an awkward time to remember: Mr. McCain abandoned his wife, who had reared their three children while he was in Vietnamese prisons, and he then began his political career with the resources of his new wife's family.

Yet although Mr. McCain's children and some friends were angry and disappointed with him at the time, they rally around him today. No candidate could be luckier in his choice of an ex-wife than Senator McCain, and he must be the only politician around who could cheat on his wife and divorce her and still get her support and her campaign contributions today. Even her friends rave about him.

NYT

more from this article. his freidns and family are much bigger people than him.

Mr. McCain has acknowledged running around with women and accepted responsibility for the breakup of the marriage, without going into details. But his supporters and his biographer, Robert Timberg, all suggest that the marriage had already effectively ended and that the couple had separated by the time he met Cindy, his present wife.

That might be the most soothing way of explaining a politician's divorce from a disabled wife and his remarriage to a wealthy heiress, but it does not jibe with accounts of family members and friends.

John and Carol McCain had separated once briefly after they moved to Washington, when he moved his gear into his mother's house on Connecticut Avenue. That was the first hint that Joe McCain, John's younger brother, had of any marital problems, for neither John nor Carol confided much about personal problems.

''I remember asking him one time,'' Joe McCain recalled. ''I said: 'You don't look so happy. You want to talk about it?' And he said, 'No, pal.' ''

That separation lasted about two weeks and was not repeated until the final split, said their son Andy, and even close family friends never knew about it. To outsiders, who often visited the McCain household, the marriage seemed as close as ever.

''They were definitely living together as man and wife when I was there,'' recalled Mr. Smith, the former instructor pilot, who moved to Washington and lived with the McCains in their home from about February through May 1979. ''And there were no signs of strain.

''For somebody to say that they were separated or at each other's throats is just nonsense,'' Mr. Smith said.

Yet at precisely the time that Mr. Smith was a guest in what appeared to be a happy household, in April 1979, Mr. McCain accompanied a group of senators on a trip to China. The Navy threw a big cocktail party for the group during a stopover in Honolulu.

''John and I were talking, and then somebody tapped me on the shoulder and I turned around and exchanged a few words,'' said Albert A. Lakeland, then a Senate staff member. ''When I turned around, John was gone. I looked around, and he was making a beeline for this very attractive blond woman.

''He spent the whole party talking to her, and he kept avoiding me when I approached,'' Mr. Lakeland said. After the reception, Mr. McCain and the young woman, Cindy Hensley, went out to dinner, and the romance blossomed.

Mr. McCain continued to pursue Miss Hensley, calling her to keep in touch. When she thanked him for sending flowers that had just arrived (signed ''John'') he said it was nothing. As she discovered years later, they were from another man named John.

Over the next six months, Mr. McCain pursued Miss Hensley aggressively, flying around the country to see her, and he began to push to end his marriage. Friends say that Carol McCain was in shock.

it continues.

... since this appears to be the only Palin thread we have I'll add more of my two cents worth.

Interviews are not her forte. Notice how she had her chaparone alonside her during Catie Couric's second interview, John McCain. He would butt in and answer for her, tease Couric and defend Palin with escapism, as well. Where has all the love gone? Being no more thrilled and enamoured by her beauty then fed up by her ignorance, republican constituents must be scratching their heads in agony.

How 'bout those darn tough actin' interviewers? Difficult questions I tell ya. You know, stuff like - "What would you do if you were president?"

First it was Gibson now it's Couric with so many questions! questions! questions! Marsha! Marsha! Marsha! As the weird youtube kid once cried, "WhY doN't yOu pEOple (sigh! cry!) juST LeAve BrittaNy aloNe (boo hoo..)?" How dare they ask Palin about policy when reporters very well know that Palin's specialty is child rearing!

Anyway, had to get that out of my system. Tougher the questions the better. It's our future and we want some answers. Call it a "Gotcha moment" or call it dying time in the thunderdome (two men enter, one man leaves), time for America to stop being such wussies and get on with the harsh realities that we live in the real world not some TV entertainment channel.

A number of columnists criticised Couric for having such a "prosecutorial" attitude in interviewing. I could barely believe they complain about it. When any politician here gets interviewed they are grilled on virtually everything, the attitude being if they can't answer those tough questions they shouldn't be in office. If you can't stand the heat.... get out of the kitchen.

As potential future executive of the USA she will be adored, respected, given honour and obedience by default. Is it so unreasonable she be called to account for her opinions and remarks?

This is hilarious. Reminds me of the old Gore and Bush skits.
