This is no contest.Polish heavy cavalry vs light Ottoman scouts.The aknc may have some chance if he can prevent the hussar from coming close with his bow.Otherwise he will get split

Actually some  of them were heavily armored.And they carried long lances.

Hungarian husssars = light cavalry

Polish hussars = heavy cavalry

We're talking about Hungarian hussars here.

Polish hussars became heavy cavalry in 2nd half of XVI century, in the previous period they (and their predecessors - hungarian hussars) were just light cavlry without armour, but equipped with really long lances (4 - 4,5 m). I belive L_D question is related to this kind of unit..

The illustration above is a modified copy of an original by V. Vuksic, from his book, Cavalry--The History of a Fighting Elite.

Hungarian hussars also used composite bows like their Turkish opponents, though, according to David Nicolle, PhD, they used the three-finger "Mediterranean release", as opposed to the standard thumb-ring.

The hussar in the upper right-hand corner of the painting above has a cap similar to the one shown in the Vuksic illustration (which is, in fact, the "classic" hussar hat that was also illustrated by Albrecht Durer).

Hungarian hussar. Fast, furious, horse is the best weapon. A hussar have to attached 100% mentaly to his horse, horse could save his life, and move in teh right time to right place bring the soldier to victory. Hussar never flee, and never surrender.  Akinci were great soldiers, but cannot match the hussars.
