What if China was to be a Muslim nation?

What if China was a muslim country?

Moved to Alternative History

one thing is certain it would have is own branch of Islam and al of south and east asia would be converted to Islam by the Chinese

the Islam practiced would be strongly influenced by Budisme & other asian philosophy streams

Cultural it would have been the same


just look at the Hui

if Tamerlane would live longer,China could be muslim.think about it,chinese could even be the protector of Islam :)

13 billion angry Chinese with no pork to eat. For that reason alone, it's unlikely China will ever be Muslim.

Well, it certainly would have upset the apple cart during a few wars! Imagine the Japanese versus a united Muslim China? And, just imagine a Muslim China versus the world today? Certainly, if WWII still happened, then the majority of atomic bombs, would have to be directed towards China and not Japan!

Of course, Communism is some what of a Jihad, of course against religion rather than promoting it!

But, of course this is but "Alternative History!"

I am not really into "what if" but it does give me memories of the old forum, this thread goes back a ways.

If the People's Republic of China was Muslim then we would all be screwed. They'd most likely side themselves or at least discreetly support Islamic extremists. The US would pose China as a serious threat to stability.

It would largely depend on the brand of Islam the Chinese embraced. If they were Shia they would side with the Iranians. The Americans, in turn, might support a Sunni jihad against the so-called heretics
