Nomination of the historic centre of Sarajevo to UNESCO's world heritage list

Dear Madame/Sir,

We kindly invite your support in the initiative for the nomination of the historic centre of Sarajevo to UNESCO's World Heritage List.

The historic centre of Sarajevo, Bascarsija, is a magnificent meeting point of the East and the West. Among the cultural monuments of Bascarsija and its immediate neighborhood are the temples of the four biggest world's religions. Some call it the Europian Jerusalem, while experts, as well as the general public, agree that it is an exceptional architectural complex, which deserves a place on UNESCO's World Heritage List.

We would appreciate if you could contribute to this initiative, by signing the petition and informing about it all interested individuals and institutions, as well as by creating links with the petition via web pages, blogs or e-mail messages.

Once the petition is closed, we will send it to the Sarajevo City Government, the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina to UNESCO and other relevant addresses.
