Has any AE members heard of the Concord Review?

It's a academic magazine that publishes history essays and various papers by high school and college students and is high striving and considered an honer for many to obtain.

I was seriously thinking about writing for them after a friend introduced me to it?

oh me me I have (sorry I couldn't resist). Anyway, we talked about this - how are your articles going? One thing that does confuse me however, apparently one has to send them money with your essay, which they keep if it isn't published. It seems quite a lot (about 20 and $40) to spend if it isn't published - and they only publish about 8% of what they receive. I think we should try, but we shouldn't be too optimistic. I'm working on an article on Ptolemaic Foreign policy for it, which I intend to be better than all my others.

However you still get four issues of their magazines and I hear they are pretty good so the $40 is not in vein. Also we will be competitive with it so we stand a good chance. The thing that I find the real rip-off to be for me at least is the National Writing board charges highway robbery rates to grade history papers for you to give to colleges when you apply, However I think that is if you only plan on going to school in the US.

Aster, you've got to pm me or something when you finish it, that sounds just fascinating.

Can't say that I've heard of this magazine.  Might have to look into it; to read, it will be a while yet before I write anything.  (couldn't afford the 40 dollar submission fee anyway though)Ouch  Though I haven't given up hope yet, I'd like to write at least one article for the AE magazine to make up for saying I will and not following through on it more times than I can remember.Embarrassed
