I've seen several of his shows broadcast on PBS here and am impressed.  His energy and upbeat personality is just great.  Just curious what people thought of him; apparently he's from the netherlands, is he well known in europe?

Hahah, the scourge of the humanity.
My grandma, who is 91, is a big fan of him. The music and the show, dreadful, really dreadful.
But i saw the guy at a tv- talk show recently. He is real nice guy. Frolic, a bit megalomaniac, but quite nice, true.

LOL  Oh, come now Ulrich; your description of him seems dead on, and his shows are definitely not my usual cup of tea (I should find a new phrase, I haven't had a cup of tea in years) but don't you find him at least mildly refreshing because of the peculiar blend of music and atmosphere?
