House of Bush House of Saud

This is an amazing insightful book i am reading. I have not got that far into the book yet, but the book is basically about the secret relationship the bush family and the Royal Saudi family have with each other. You would be surprised how these two dynasties have secretly worked with each other in numerous missions with various agendas. Please share if you know about this topic or any other dynasties who have secretly worked together to help each other gain power.

Well, I don't know how secret it was, but the Byzantine Emperor Manuel Komnenos and the Holy Roman Emperor (Conrad?) worked together against the Sicilians in the twelfth century. Also, the Emperor Maurice helped the Persian Emperor Khusrau II gain power. After he was murdered, Khusrau tried to promote a pretender to the throne, who claimed to be Maurice's son. I am, undoubtedly, not the best person to be mentioning this. Maybe one of our resident Byzantinists can elaborate and explain whether either instance had an element of secrecy to it.

Well, as I recall, Khusrau was the legitimate claimant, and explained to Maurice that it would set a bad precedent if the throne of a legitimate Persian Shahanshah was usurped. Maurice did it both to place a fairly powerful client on the throne and to guarantee the accession of his son. The ironic--and truly sad--thing is, Maurice and his sons were butchered by the worthless tyrant Phokas, which provided Khusrau with an excuse to invade the Roman Empire (ostensibly to get revenge on the murder of his benefactor and place his false claimant on the throne).

Like I said, I'm not very qualified to go in depth, but I hope I have provided something of worth.
