Well, most of it is based on the one Mesoamerican art history course I was able to take back in university. I've got a stack of books here too... let me see... The World of the Ancient Maya by John S. Henderson, The Aztecs, Maya, and Their Predecessors by Muriel Porter Weaver, Reading the Maya Glyphs by Michael D. Coe, Aztec, Mixtec and Zapotec Armies by John M. D. Pohl, Before Cortes: Mesoamerican Costumes from the Codices by Patricia Rieff Anawalt, the Popol Vuh, as well as whatever copies of the codicies I can find and a few other bits and pieces. Also Wikipedia.
This forum is awesome too, though. I've learned a lot just since signing up a week ago. What I really need to do, though, is go to Mexico. I'm sure there's a lot I could learn just by being there that they don't put in books.
