Afghan MP, Malalai Joya, has been suspended

Malalai Joya, the outspoken 28 year old Afghan MP (who has survived 4 assassination attempts) has been suspended from Parliament for comparing warlords in power to donkeys in an interview she gave. She stated that her country�s parliament was like a �stable or zoo�.... �this is a word that fits - a cattle house is full of animals, like a cow giving milk, a donkey carrying something, a dog that�s loyal.� The warlords majority voted to suspend her, invoking Article 70 of the Parliament that forbids MPs from insulting one another.   A statement was issued by warlord Yunus Qanooni saying that Joya�s case will go to court. She is so brave and has publicly stated, �Maybe one day they will kill me. But I will never be afraid.� Hail Malalai!!!!!

Afghanistan is getting civilised! Just got suspended? back in the day, she would have been strung up from a lampost for such comments.
