I saw the preview and pictures for this movie a while ago. I haven't gotten a chance to see the movie itself yet, but from the pics I've seen it's safe to say that the costuming and set designers didn't really do much historical research. But at least Xerxes isn't an 8 foot tall bald pierced naked guy. Wink

I note that in summarising the story they manage to avoid pointing out that Esther was Jewish. She is merely born to a "people who have been carried away as slaves".

(And, yes, I know the Persians let the Jews go: it wasn't the Persians that carried them off.)

Good point. The "punkrocker" look of Xerxes, has kept me from watching 300.
