I am writing an article about a tribe of the Mongols in China. The Chinese name is 巴爾虎. But i cannot not find their engllish name, as well as teir number of population. Please help me,I need your help, desperately.

one way of translating it is to use wikipedia, go to the Chinese version and type in your desired word, than click on the link on the left side where it says english and many other language.

I believe it's called Barag, but I have no idea of it's population.

Modern tranliterstion from Mongolian to English is Baerhu folk.
Also Barag, there is a modern division of Mongolia...
