Unfortunately, Canadian history is not my speciality. I know that despite many protests from French-spekaing Canadiens... the conscrpition was enforced due to high death rates in Italian front, as well as their massacres in Dieppe. Ironically, many of the conscripted troops just made French Canadiens angry and furthermore, the newly conscrioption were not able to support the Allied forces in Europe because the WWII was over by the time the newly trained Canadian troops were prepared for battle.
I would suggest that you research for it, since your question is assigned homework. Is it long term assignment? I am sure that your teacher would have given instruction regardining how you could find the info that was asked. Perhaps your teacher assigned a reading, perhaps he gave you some worksheets. Perhaps he mentioned it in the class. If it's a long research assignment, I recommend to simply surf it. If you were able to find this website to find the answer, I am sure that you could type some key words in google. I wish I could help, but I don't want to advocate "Big brother policy". I don't want to make you dependent of others...
Well, good luck.
