Are we ever going to see a more "European" foreign policy from the British?Oh,you know what i mean....Wink The AngloSaxonic alliance is nice ,yes, but it is nothing for the rest of Europe .Do the British feel that they are part of Europe,or they feel that they are alone in a island ,neighbour to the US?

Britain's foriegn policy has always been to draw America closer to Europe and avoid a two power blocs scenario, akin to the
Cold War.

Margaret Thatcher advocated inviting the US to join the EU. Economically it would be a win/win situation and Euro legislation would force the US to raise their human rights and freedoms to a European level before they were allowed to join.

No sane libertarian minded American could oppose the transfer of power away from the president, to Brussels.

Sure. The world experiencing the Second Cold War... the declining US would join other western powers to oppose the growing Eastern powers.
