sorry should have said the caste system or the old caste system and why are the brahmin caste a higher caste what makes them tham way?   Is it birth, the area they come from? Is it something to do with the god brahmin?

by birth mostly. they are the priestly class of india. their claim to power is that they are the only ones fit to worship the various indian gods.as people can't do without religion in their day to day lives clearly you can understand how much power the brahmins got by this monopolization of worship. every religious and social ritual has to be done through them. their word is divine law etc..

Ok. Let me some up the next 20 posts for you.

1) Someone will say the caste system is wrong
2) someone will say that even muslims have caste, and begin to discus it here despite having a thread open on it.
3) someone will go on about how brahmin's are the fourth antichrist and should be wiped off the planet.

I'm going to make this simple. This is a history forum so I'm closing this thread. Alot of information you require is available on that wikipedia link above. Sorry, but the rules are rules and they state that discussions based solely on religion are banned.
