I went to a gaming place and was playing AoE3.  I installed a new patch so I could play multiplayer.  The patch destroyed the game, it erased my home city and I couldn't make a new one.
 
Has anyone else had this problem?  If you have the game, I recommend not installing it on your computer.  I cannot tell you the name of the patch though.

just re-install the game. These things happen in games all the time.
