I for (maybe) 20th time tonight watched Rambo 3 which was filmed in Afghanistan. The movie shows pro-American Mujahedeen fighting against the Russians and some of the quotations (dialogues) used in the movie were great as I will share one of them which says:

******************************************
Mousa: This is Afghanistan... Alexander the Great try to conquer this country... then Genghis Khan, then the British. Now Russia. But Afghan people fight hard, they never be defeated. Ancient enemy make prayer about these people... you wish to hear?
Rambo: Um-hum.
Mousa: Very good. It says, 'May God deliver us from the venom of the Cobra, teeth of the tiger, and the vengeance of the Afghan.' Understand what this means?
******************************************
Now my question is if the Americans do know all about the History of Afghans and do know that there hasn't been a single country in the history which could rule Afghans, then why don't they believe it ?
I mean why do they want to test Afghans for what they are know for (due to which we every time lose our childrens and loved ones), and why do they want to have another name (Afghanistan) along Vietnam highlighted in their history?
So lets have some logical answers to my questions.

P.S: Please don't try to answer me with refrence to 9/11 as we all do know that what was the real game.

Closes to get there were turks&mongols but they settelde in the region and mixed with the locals. they didn't forced them selfs. sh*t a rather hava afghani warrior that gots my back with respect and brothership than that he must gared my back. Smartest thing a empire could do allieship with afhgans doumbest a head on confrontation. Yoyu might win but the people will never see you as a king or ruler. Wgat about Ghaznavid Empire  shared or mixed empire right

dear friend Gharanai, don't take this very seriouse, this is Hollywood, nothing else. They try to emote and dramatize a scene, that's all. Be sure that their politicians think different than their film makers.

The afghanis didnt defeat the Russians politics back in Russia was the reason for the Soviet pullout, not Afghani resistance.

Western sources tell us the Soviets were defeated when they werent at all. You cant defeat America either.

America supplied your troops to fight the Soviets, hell the Soviets even sold weapons to your fighters.

Like Maziar said its just a movie. Often the English are portrayed as pompus twits, the Patriot and Braveheart are good examples.

wWell I totaly agree with Maziar and you that the movies do show what's not real but what I and the movie say that "Afghans could be occupied but not ruled!" is something which the history tells us.

You said that Russians were not beaten but due to their policies they left, that's not a bad point but now tell me who made their policies to change regarding presence of Russian forces in Afghanistan (for sure the resistance and lost of money). A better statement regarding the defeat of Russians could be that "Americans got their revenge of Vietnam".

+ You said Afghans are not got at resistance then I guess you shall better ask the Canadian Captain who was axed by a young boy, ask HIM how Afghans are at resistance and defending their country.

If still you are not satisfied ask the British Ambassador (whose heli was put on fire in the tightest of security around) in Afghanistan about the Resistance of Afghans.

If still you are not satisfied go to any retired soldier of:
  1. 92nd Highlanders' devision or
  2. Queen's 16th Light Dragoons or
  3. The 66th Regiment Cavalery or
  4. The 13th Foot Infantry or
  5. Queen's 44th Foot Infantry

and if you were lucky enough (to find one still alive) ask him how Afghans fought during the Anglo - Afghan wars, or Simply search the internet for words such as "Afghan", "Maiwand", "Dr Brydon (the only survivor of an army of 16500 soldiers who arrived at Jellalabad)", "Khyber", "Ahmad Shah Abdali", "Anglo-Afghan wars", "Russian-Afghan war" and "Taleban".

I am sure you will learn much more about who Afghans really are.

The Aghans have been fighting off more numerous and better-equipped enemies for centuries. It will take Karzai's government years to defeat the remaining insurgents (even longer if they follow the "rules of war")
