This might sound kind of strange, but I think that spoken modern Greek sometimes sounds like spoken Spanish from Spain.  Especially with the silent or h sound of gammas (like j's in Spanish) or in endings, like the omicron-sigma (-os) endings.  Other times, spoken modern Greeks sounds a lot like ancient Greek when read aloud.  I guess it has to do some with the speed with which it is spoken.

Well, I can tell you that the Cubans in Florida who don't speak English at all say that it sounds like Greek to them!

Ill say reard very reard, first you try to understand some words but you cant

My tongue is not a IE tongue so it whas very very hard to learn english, dutch, french (still) and still german.

Oh btw Greek did sounded like jewish to me, lots of gh, os, is endings reard
