Makhoonik is a region south of Khorassan near Afghanistan border whose people have not yet benefited from the advancement of modern life. The economy of 13 villages in Makhoonik is almost governed collectively. The height of males in Makhoonik seldom reaches 150 cm. The dwarfs here are leading a very friendly life and so far nobody has heard of quarrel among them. The majority of the 1,800 population in Makhoonik are literate.
