What happened in Prague (Kingdom of Bohemia) in 1870?

I have read that Stone Bridge was renamed to Charles Bridge and I have also heard about renaming one street.

I made a research and I found out that the King of Bohemia that time was Franz Joseph I of Austria.

Maybe he arranged the renaming.

Nationalism. 'Stone Bridge' was too generic. 'Charles Bridge' celebrated the glory of Charles IV and Prague.

Or ego.

I recently named a small creek flowing into the Mancos River which itself is a trib of the San Juan....after myself.

That I feel was appropriate; as it normally is semi dry...as am I.
