Last week Poland's Communist Ex-Dictator/President Wojciech Jaruzelski passed away at age 90. This event has sprung up old tensions on whether the man was a hero or a villain.
With that topic in mind I'd like to draw attention to another player in communist Poland who is equally controversial, Ryszard Kuklinski. He defected to the Western side during the cold war and gave secret Warsaw Pact documents over to the CIA. He was convinced he was doing the right thing because he felt Poland was threatened by the Soviet Union. Some praise him for his actions others brand him traitor for breaking his oath as a Polish Col. of the military. I felt these two people were opposites in some respect. One stayed loyal to the oaths he took, however in doing so his actions of martial law (which he explains was for the good of Poland and simply a lesser evil to halt a Soviet invaion)has caused controversy. On the other hand we have Kuklinski who betrayed his vows but felt he was doing it for the good for the future of Poland.
OPINIONS.......GO!
