Topic: Shadow People, Real? Or....... Posted: 22-May-2013 at 11:03 |
In the late 70's I was a supt. at a Golf course in PA. I had 2 of the crew come into my office, pale and quite shaken. They told me they had been on a fairway and saw what at first they thought to be a local "ball hawk" guys who go out onto golfcourses to gather lost balls and sell them. We didn't allow them on the course.
The guys went into the woods to chase him and found nothing. As they were going back to their work, they saw this thing again, it "looked like a 2 dimensional cutout of a man, only partially transparent." It moved in a manner not possible for a human. This thing followed them, and was there every time they looked, but when they moved toward it, it would dissappear and reappear 20-30 yards away.
At that point they jumped in the truck and took off for the barn. I went to my truck and and got my good friend Mr. Thompson, out of the glove box and went for a look. Nothing was there. I walked the entire back nine and saw nothing unusual.
These guys were really spooked. Both were Nam vets, one had been at Khe San, not the kind that rattles easily. They wouldn't go back out until I let them take my Belgian Shepard with them.
The "thing" was never seen again and I had completely forgotten about the incident.
That is until recently. I saw a segment of some show, Monster Quest maybe? Where they interviewed folks who were seeing the same type of "thing". This was the first I had heard of this since the above incident.
Has anyone else heard of this or has had a similar experience?

I don't know much about shadow people but I'm sure we could try and analyse the situation a little bit. Your fellow colleagues saw this ''thing'' during daytime or at night? Because if it was night then they could have seen just about anything, especially in a dense area such as the woods. If it was daytime then I guess this story would have more credibility because it would be difficult to see what they described in broad daylight and just simply imagine the whole thing.
Could you tell us more about the way it moved? Like were it's arms and legs fixed in position whilst it moved, is that what you're saying?

The incident occurred in broad daylight. It was early spring and I had them out rebuilding sandtraps.
Baal, I did not see this "thing", and it's been 30 years. All I remember is they said the thing moved in "jumps". If they moved, it moved, but it would vanish from one spot, and reappear in another. They actually observed this thing for about half an hour.
These were 2 "salt of the earth" types, steady guys who saw something they didn't understand. And they were shaken enough to get me to go to my truck and pull out the long barrled 38 cal Thompson I carried and go take a serious look around.
Baal, if it had happened at night I would have had a different reaction. 30 years ago, working at night on a golf course, almost anything could have happened. In season, we always had a crew of 2-3 men on site overnight. We didn't have "automatic sprinklers" we had to water by hand, it was called "hose and drag". Watering and changing cups was done at night. It could get wild sometimes, which is why I had a 38 cal pistol in my truck.

They worked this time.
I read most of the posts. These folks are into the occult and paranormal. Also, most of the sightings and interactions took place when they were children. They talk about seeing them in darkened rooms etc.
No one mentioned a broad daylight incident. I don't think they are speaking of the same type of incident or entity. Also, these folks are tuned to this sort of thing, the 2 guys who witnessed this were not.

To be honest, Clay, this is starting to sound a lot more credible. Doesn't sound from your description that your colleagues imagined things especially given that they were in broad daylight and looked at the thing for 30 minutes. Seems like something was up. What exactly, I dunno.

If you believe in them, they are real as far as you are concerned. If you don't, then they aren't.
I'm a great believer in Occam's Razor, and this fails the Razor test.

Well, I didn't witness this, and I really don't know what to think, but the 2 guys were sure they had seen something. One thing I didn't mention, when they went back out they took my dog Dutch. Dutch was a professionally trained Belgian Shepard. When they were out in the same area, the dog kept signaling there was an intruder, but there wasn't anything there.

Seen much weirdness over the decades...some low some high. Never seen one of the SP but then again I never seen a Din'eh shape shifter either.
But I have seen weird lights over Archuleta (and elsewhere) performing feats incapable given normally known flight characteristics, known platforms, physics and the laws of the big 'g. Heard native kids bark and howl just like yotes and wild dogs.
Keep a pint by the bedside and if one shows... offer em a drink says... I.
For whether they be benevolent and or friendlies will probably be determined on yer initial reaction.
Besides ya can always roll over, duck and cover, grab the 12 and load em with buck in a pinch.
Amen.
