Turkistan isn't a name of country, it is name of a region as Far east, Middle east. You can think that like big central asia.

Maybe you are looking for "Turkmenistan"Wink

since 1991, Turkmenistan have been independent. However the reality is Russia still have big political influence on all country of Central Asia

even Today's Central Asia isn't homeland of the Turks. It is located in more east.

You can think somewhere near Altai Mountains(in West Mongolia and Russia). As you know, Turkish language and all Turkic languages  are in Altaic language group. I think just this argument can proof that Altai mountains is one of the biggest candidate for being the original homeland of the Turks
