Note the times given reference the artifacts. Another example of evidence being found that predates accepted viewpoints on the archaeological/anthropological time line as still in vogue by mainstream.

"But the newly-discovered and recently-dated early Maryland and other US east coast Stone Age tools are from between 26,000 and 19,000 years ago - and are therefore contemporary with the virtually identical western European material."

''What’s more, chemical analysis carried out last year on a European-style stone knife found in Virginia back in 1971 revealed that it was made of French-originating flint"...

To me, this isn't news.  I've been finding points and tools that point to solutrean origins here in NJ.  The problem is preservation of strata.  There's no way of conclusively dating them as most are surface finds.
As for where these folks went, I don't believe they were absorbed.  The Lenni didn't arrive here until approx 2nd or 3rd cent. CE.   These folks were long gone by the time the Lenni arrived from the South.

It would be really good if you could post some pictures of them.

Sure would.  Problem is, I shot most in macro.  I'm having a heck of a time with re sizing.

Could this be why haplogroup X2 is found in indigenous northeast Americans:

That's part of the focus, yes.  It's not found elsewhere in NA.
