Did the uniforms of the Dominion Police of Canada, resemble those of the Royal Irish Constabulary or were they similar to the uniform of the London Metropolitan Police?

Canadian police uniforms comprise red jackets and blue trousers similar to those of the Victorian British army. Originally they wore spiked helmets but these were replaced with Stetsons
