In Islamic sources, Tokuz Oghuz - and Uighurs are sometimes considered the same, since there is almost no difference in their Arabic versions:

1- غوز :"Ghuz" (for Oghuz)

2- غور "Ghur" (for Uighur)

the difference is only one "." .

What's more, Western Oghuzes, again in Islamic sources, are mentioned as having 10 tribes (On Oghuz) - the number by which Uighurs are described (On Uighur).

But it's interesting that Oghuz Khan (meaning "Khan of Oghuz") who is believed to be Turkmens' (Oghuzes') forefather is praised among Uighurs too.
