Hello,
 
Is it true that the commanding general of one of the few Egyptian Brigades that performed well in the 1967 war was a Coptic Christian? If so, does anybody have any information on this general and his unit?

I don't know but it's possible. Some 10%+ of Egypt's population are christians.

There is no separate coptic brigades in the Egyptian army, it is a fully integrated army.
 
The man you ask about is Lt. General Fuad Ghali (from the powerful coptic ghali clan of Al-Minya province of upper Egypt). In the 1973 war with Israel he commanded an entire division (18th infantry) which took part in the crossing. Later in the war he became commander of the 2nd Egyptian army.
