Hi, in a couple of weeks I'll be off to southern India for a couple of months. Arriving in Bombay then heading in a Hampi(ish) direction, after that, who knows!

Looking for suggestions on places to visit anywhere in the south.

Thanks

Ganges is in the North, full of Ganges sharks, Bull sharks and pollution. Been there twice, boated on it, but wouldn't jump in, in a million years.

there's a lot of nice locations in the general Deccan area. for example Aurangabad/Daulatabad has a cool fortress, the Bibi Ka Maqbara (Taj Mahal lookalike) and some kilometers outside the city the Ellora Caves. but don't know if that's an option if you're ehading south. try to check out Bijapur though, which is en route and has the Gol Mumtaz, a nice domed momument and probably one of the largest domes in asia. of course Hyderabad with its attractions would be a nice place to visit too.
