Here's a good site on Native American mythology, featuring the artwork of Richard Hook (he of Osprey fame):

Rome total war.

someone else grabbed the opportunity of starting a mod with same idea, since i was afriad there would be lack of intrest due to the already existing american conquest which itself is drying out as i see it.

anyways the mod now is promising and i might post screens and updates here and if you guys wanna help with accuracy feel free.

I have Iriquois ancestry but it goes way back to the mid 1700's on my Dutch side. My Dutch ancestors came to America in the late 1600's. Their last name was Van Houten so that is as Dutch as you can get.

The Apache spoke Turkic dialect but I am not sure if the Black Feet did or not. Both of these tribes were known for being great warriors in battle.
Funny, when I lived in Montana some of the tribes had more hate for each other than the white man! (???)
I know that the Salish Indians, a more peaceful tribal group, avoided the Black Feet. The Flat Head moved to the other side of the Rockies to avoid them. The Salish dwelt in permanent homes and were not nomadic like the Plains Indians. See the Cataldo Mission for a good source on the Salish tribes. I worked there one summer.

You might want to do an internet search for the plains indians such as the blackfeet in Montana or the Apache in Arizonia/New Mexico. Do you want pre Columbian or Post? Of course, in the pre period there were no horses. My favorite is the coastal tribes of Oregon, Washington and B.C. Canada. They lived in permanent settlements along the coast and their homes were made of planked cedar. Until the arrival of the white man they used wooden armour in battle and they had long war canoes made of planked wood, cedar. They were often come back from battle with their enemies head as a trophy, sort of like what the Celts did. Their art is incredible!!!

I agree that pacific northwest indians rock, but my favorite is still eastern woodlands because of the iroquois

"mods" are modifications to an original release of a game by one person or a team that put their work together to make even a larger change.
Anyone can do it.
Mods come in various sizes, can be a simple adjustment or large one that changes the game significantly.

The most famous one being Counter Strike which was a mod to Half Life.
