I agree, I love Nastaliq. I remember a story that monotype tried to make a Nastaliq font, but they gave up because they ended up with 20,000 different characters.

What my viking ancestors used, RUNIC!!! Here is the Scandinavian Runic Script in it's final form, used in some places until around 1500.

Every symbol/letter has a unicode number. to enter the letter you type in & followed by the number. Ð and Þ represent the hard and soft "th" consonants. English used the same letters untill the Norman Conquest.

Actually, runes were used in some places until the beginning of the 20th century. Blame the paper industry for their disappearance.

It's advisable to switch your keyboard to Icelandic one. Definitely the easiest way.
