I'm happy to say that we've entered a partnership with De Re Militari (http://www.deremilitari.com), an academic society for medieval military history. We will host a subforum located in the "Medieval Europe" section as the official forum for De Re Militari. There, Orderic Vitalis, from De Re Militari, will post information about the society, website update, and forecoming publication. We also encourage discussion on medieval warfare and comments on articles, book review, and primary sources found on the De Re Military website.

De Re Military has compiled a tremendous amount of articles and sources for medieval military history and we hope you'll explore their website to learn more about the topic.

I hope both AE and De Re Military can benefit from this partnership.

Red and Cyrus, what happened to this partnership? It would be great if we could get these academics to rejoin us and share their latest theories

That link now takes one to a domain website company and it appears that the site is no more.

Looking around I found this link for a De Re Militari. Are these the same people?

What a handsome figure of a dragon. No wonder I fall madly in love with the Alani Dragon now, the avatar, it's a gorgeous dragon picture.
