Topic: Ancient Chinese immigrants in the caves! Posted: 27-Nov-2004 at 10:38 |
I had posted it in our previous forum but I think we can discuss about it again, it is really interesting that not in the east but in the north west of Iran, there is a chinese monument. We don't know who built it and when but everything says that it is Chinese!
Its area is about 400 m in lenght and 300 m in width.
Three artificial caves have been excavated at the heart of mountain and they are so many beautiful engravings in each cave that almost all of them have a chinese origin.
Among them, the most beautiful one is the 3.5 m dragons which have been inscribed opposite to each other symmetrically, whenas Iranians view the dragons as symbols of tyranny and injustice and have always fought against this mythical creature, the Chinese have made these dragons to attract welfare, bliss and to safeguard them.

One possibility is that they came Iran during mongol period, so it may be built about 700 years ago.

If they went during the Mongol period, yes it would be the Yuan.

it would never be Yuan, Yuan's technology can make the drogon a lot more better than that, it should be like Tang dynasty.

By the style of the dragon, i would tend to say it is of Tang or earlier origin as well. This dragon looks more like the Han period dragons. I am pretty sure after Soong the dragon look more and more ugly.

I have heard about this. They used carbon dating to trace it back 2,000 years ago. It must be around the time of Ashkani (Parthian) or Sassanian when they had good trading relations with Han Dynasty China. China always had a curiousity with Persians and Romans back then. Maybe this was a trading post for silk back then?
