TheDiplomat is right. It was Ottomans' official policy; to bring their own people to recently conquered non-Muslim lands.

Turkish Cypriots came to Cyprus after 1571.There was Venezian State on the Island.Between Istanbul-East Mediterrenean area Cyrpus was a problem for the turkish Ships.We took it and brougth turkish people from central anatolia and Mersin-Adana.

Turkish Cypriot speaks Turkish with diffrent accent.Fell like some greek influence some kayseri turkish dialect.
 
But greek cypriots mixed wiht lusignans (french)venezitians,arabs

i was under the impression they migrated to cyprus too, conversions also happened but I wouldnt say its the source in this case.
