Topic: The Invictus Party Posted: 18-Jan-2007 at 10:20 |
Welcome to the All Empires version of the retirement party.
Our great Administrator and webmaster of many years Imperator Invictus has found that the time for him to pursue other interests has come. Just a simple good bye note seemed inadequate for such an occasion. So we are throwing him a party to show our gratitude. So please all of you give him a toast, send him a drink, let him know how much we will miss him and all he does.
To that end I would like to propose a toast to the fellow that has helped to make our wonderful community what it is today.
As far as I could find this was his first involvement in the first thread back when All Empires was just an Idea
_BlackRider_ posted 01-30-02 11:11 PM EDT (US) 11 / 25
Last summer, I was going to make a mongol website. I'm pretty good with computers and graphics and such, but I canceled the project because school started. The only thing I got done was a half complete bio on genghis khan, about 8000 words of his early life. I'll revitalize this project later. But for now i'm too lazy to do so, or to get involved with any other serious project, for now. But as cym said a great source for partnership is simaqian studios (I'm there as Kha khan, tho i haven't posted since the forum change).
Too lazy,...... too lazy ... somehow that is not a statement that I would use to describe Imperator. Never ending patents for a million stupid questions, yes . Lazy ,never. I for one am glad he found the energy to become involved in Cyruss little project.
By the time I found All Empires in 2003 it was already a large forum with many hundred members and Imperator Invictus was at the helm even if his name was Kha Khan ( how many names can one guy have) . He was one of the first to welcome me way back then.. His friendly helpful manner set the standard for everyone else. That has never changed. His hard work has made this forum what it is today. He litterally made the flora as you see them today. The skin designs and banners are all his. He has seen us through the good times -massive growth and all. And the bad - one complete deletion - and another server move and of course the "union" of history forums. He handled it all with efficency and patients and a level head.. His contributions go beyond his administration and webmaster duties are many. Over the years he has contributed mightily to the historical content and discursions here. Did you know he is closer to being an expert on many subjects than the rest of us will ever be and he has shared that knowledge with us.
So Imperator here is a toast to you.
Thank you for your dedication, energy and your creativity. For all your hard work and generosity. For so freely sharing yourself , your knoledge and your time . May you succeed in all your endeavours as you have in this one. All empires is what it is because of you. Thank You
For the future:
May you always have work for your hands to do. May your pockets hold always a coin or two. May the sun shine bright on your windowpane. May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain. May the hand of a friend always be near you. And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
And Always remember:
Goodbyes are not forever.
Goodbyes are not the end.
They simply mean we'll miss you
Until we meet again! ~Author Unknown

...despite being a relative newcomer, i have noticed II's contribution and effort throughout the site, and a huge commendation is well-deserved...especially as II has made a significant advance for the subject i love so dearly....
...i sincerely hope that the future brings II all that is desired and a rather large slice of fortune!!!!..
..right, i'll bring the party-poppers and fairy cakes, and a huge helping of jelly and ice-cream!!!!....

Now the time is getting closer. Pretty soon our dear friend will be moving on into a world without AE. He has been such a vital part of this community that it seems unreal to imagine not having him around.
As far back as I could remember Imperator Invictus has spent numerous hours tweaking and improving the format of this web page. His patience and helpful demanor were behavioral strengths that he shared with us. We could do justice to him if we were to immitate just part of his virtuous characteristics.
Thanks for all of your hard work, knowledge and dedication you put into All Empires!
Good cheer to you Imperator Invictus! May your horizons always look bright!
We have an ongoing farewell thread in the moderator's room. Below are a few excerpts from various staff members:

Imperator Invictus is one dedicated man who can get things done. I never saw him in a bad mood. Always polite; always friendly :)
I got to work closely with him two times: when we moved the main site to a CMS, and then when we started the magazine. He put a lot of work on both projects at the same time that he was actively participating with his other roles on the site. At the same time, he was going to college through a challenging program.
I wish that he has a good rest from his many years of work. We will be missed so much by all of us, and by me in particular.

Imperator Invictus - I don't know who you are, couldn't imagine what you ever have done here, don't know what you will do now, but doesn't matter, have a nice rest of your lifetime
.....pooh, that was a close thing, don't want to say something wrong, no to elevated and not to extraneous so that everyone wants to talk to me any longer.
and now a song ........
Goodbye to you my trusted friend We ve known each other since we Were nine or ten Together we ve climbed hills and trees Learned of love and abc s Skinned our hearts and Skinned our knees
Goodbye my friend it s hard to die When all the birds are singing In the sky Now that spring is in the air Pretty girls are everywhere Think of me and I ll be there
We had joy we had fun we had Seasons in the sun But the hills that we climbed were Just seasons out of time
Goodbye papa please pray for me I was the black sheep of the family You tried to teach me right from wrong Too much wine and too much song Wonder how I got along
Goodbye papa it s hard to die When all the birds are singing in the sky Now that the spring is in the air Little children everywhere When you see them I ll be there
We had joy we had fun we had Seasons in the sun But the wine and the songs like the Seasons have all gone We had joy we had fun we had Seasons in the sun But the wine and the song like The seasons have all gone
Goodbye michelle my little one You gave me love and helped Me find the sun And every time that I was down You would always come around And get my feet back on The ground
Goodbye michelle it s hard to die When all the birds are singing in The sky Now that the spring is in the air With the flowers everywhere I wish that we could both be there
We had joy we had fun we had Seasons in the sun But the hills that we climbed were Just seasons out of time
We had joy we had fun we had Seasons in the sun But the wine and the song like the Seasons have all gone
We had joy we had fun we had Seasons in the sun But the wine and the song like the Seasons have all gone
We had joy we had fun we had Seasons in the sun But the wine and the song like the Seasons have all gone

Thanks for all the hard work Imperator! Sucks that your retiring from being the Adminstrator, but you'll still be taking part in the forums from time to time, right???
Anyways, best of luck.
